Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry Clear and Concise Communications Program

In business, your best idea is only as good as your ability to effectively share it with others. Strong technical analyses, breakthrough insights and sound strategic decisions risk being undervalued, misinterpreted or worse yet — ignored — if they are not clearly and convincingly presented to key stakeholders. The complexity of ongoing innovations in analytics, digitization and artificial intelligence have driven the need for businesses to think differently and adapt quickly. Success ultimately depends on ensuring that your organization's employees have both the technical and communication skills to effectively adapt to the rapidly changing world of business and take advantage of new opportunities. Absence of either needlessly costs your organization money and damages stakeholder engagement at every level. This 3-hour session is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to confidently pitch and share their insights, analyses, and recommendations with diverse audiences, both inside and outside their organization. In this program, participants will learn to: - More effectively plan messages with a focus on purpose (controlling idea, call to action, etc.), audience analysis, and context (internal and external) analysis - Design and deliver messages that engage, inform, and persuade - Select the presentation content, structure, and format that best aligns with their target audience - Present data more effectively - Understand the impact of word choice, voice, and body control on how a message is received and interpreted by others
